Project Review: School of Rock

The first pass at a heavy Metal Looking 3D Logo.

A refined version of the above Logo Presented with a soft round bevel.

A Chrome "Script" Logo concept done in steel as well with two layers.

The Final 3D pass I did with another two layer font with a mini serif.

A 3D Illustration of a Guitar Amp done for the DVD packaging.

The Teaser Poster with 3D rhinestones rendered out at 6000 pixels wide to enhance the practical Photo-shoot.

School of Rock

Client: via BLT and Associates.
Art Director(s): Dustin Stanton, Eddie Segura.
Project Date: Spring 2003

I had the privilege of working on the Theatrical Posters for School of Rock as well as the DVD packaging. I did a few Logos but what finished was a 3D rhinestone render to line up with a special jacket graphic that Jack Black wore.

I also did some 3D Illustration for the DVD packaging and what finished was a AMP with a cord going to Jack playing on the back sleeve with instructions on the speaker grill. I had about 2 Hrs to build and render out the speaker so a super fast turn around on this one.

Cheers, THOM
